Job Description

Montgomery College, Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus, has an immediate need for a FT Nursing Education Administrative Specialist in the Health Sciences Department. The regular work schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; and 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. on training days when preparing and coordinating classes. The campus location is primarily Takoma Park with some travel to the East County Education Center, and/or other campus locations. This is a non-bargaining, non-exempt, grade 27 position. For non-exempt positions, you are not eligible to work a secondary job at Montgomery College. This eligibility is subject to change based on the needs of the unit.

Under supervision and/or direction, incumbents provide administrative and technical support for Nursing faculty leads related to nursing education simulation. The incumbent will assist with professional development documentation and related logistics; as well as coordinate events, workshops, and meetings.

This is a temporary position with benefits funded through June 30, 2029. Employment continuation beyond this period is contingent upon need and funding.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate instructional logistics including classroom booking, meals, taking photos and uploading to social media.
  • Create certificates of completion; and publishing annual statewide simulation usage reports.
  • Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Coordinate virtual and in person meetings, and prepare and distribute meeting agendas and minutes, as well as maintain and update Steering Committee information on the MCSRC webpage.
  • Advertise courses; oversee application processes, manage enrollment, and participant logistics (dates, hotel arrangements, meals).
  • Coordinate efforts for simulation projects; recruit writers, actors, and videographers, schedule simulation centers for filming; assist with video shoots, and editing, finalizing, and posting to the MC Simulation Library.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
  • Three years nursing experience in acute care settings.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook.
  • Skill using OneNote, Zoom, and Teams for virtual coordination.
  • Skills using online forms and surveys (e.g., Microsoft Forms, Google Forms).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong customer-service skills.
  • The equivalent combination of education, training, certification and/or experience that provides the required knowledge and expertise to perform the essential function of the job.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Nursing
  • Previous project management or research experience in a related field

Hiring Range: $31.69-$41.19 annually. Initial salary placement for new hires falls between the minimum and midpoint of the range and is based on relevant candidate experience and internal equity.  The maximum salary for this position is $50.69.
