Varsity Girls Wrestling Coach

Southmont High School is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and knowledgeable individual to lead our Varsity Girls Wrestling program. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in athletics and academics, player development, sportsmanship, and building a positive team culture.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all aspects of the varsity girls wrestling program

• Organize and conduct effective practices, training sessions, and competition strategies

• Foster an environment that emphasizes teamwork, personal growth, and character development

• Develop athletes at all skill levels, with attention to proper technique, conditioning, and injury prevention

• Coordinate with the athletic department, assistant coaches, and other school staff

• Ensure compliance with IHSAA rules and school policies

• Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes both on and off the mat

Qualifications:

• Prior coaching experience in wrestling 

• Strong knowledge of wrestling rules, techniques, and safety protocols

• Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes

• Excellent organizational and communication skills

• Must pass a background check per school district policy
