POSITION:  Extracurricular Assignment

                    Mentor Teacher – 4th Grade

Evaluated by:  Principal/Assistant Principal

LOCATION:  Poca Elementary School

QUALIFICATIONS: 

1. Five (5) Years Teaching Experience
2. Must Participate In Training Program
3. Master’s Degree And/Or Previous Advanced Training In Teacher Effectiveness
4. Willingness To Assist New Teachers And Perform Assigned Responsibilities Such As:
5. Regular Observations/Conferences
6. Attendance At Monthly Support Team Meetings
7. Completion Of A Log Book
8. Ongoing Support And Assistance To New Employee
9. Same Programmatic Level As Intern And Same Building Location If Possible

 SALARY:   The Mentor Shall Receive A Stipend Paid By The West Virginia Department Of Education.  

LENGTH OF EMPLOYMENT:   2025-26 School Year and 2025-26 School Year

JOB DESCRIPTION:  Participate in a formal beginning teacher assistance program; help resolve  

problems of beginning teachers through assistance and support; classroom observation and follow-up conferences concerning teaching techniques, classroom management skills, improved relationships with students, etc.; assist with identifying goals and objectives; assist with self-evaluation of intern teacher
