Job Summary: THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a WING COMMAND CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT (Title 32), Position Description Number D2678000 and is part of the IL 182 AW, National Guard.
Major Duties:
Qualifications: AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of consideration for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code § 709), will be in the following manner and sequence: The area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG. Military Grades: Enlisted Only - Minimum rank requirement of SMSgt (Promotable) and May not exceed the rank of CMSgt. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: MUST possess experience, education or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information. Progressively responsible experience which demonstrates the ability to provide technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-12 Level - MUST possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level that includes program or managerial work in functions directly related to the position; experience developing and recommending policy; organizing and executing specific programs; evaluating and recommending changes in methods of operations; experience in supervisory, staff, or technical work involving study, analysis, or evaluation leading to improved managerial or administrative policies, practices, and procedures; and experience preparing written communications and oral presentations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
