What You Will Do:

This is a professional position administering the SNAP (Stop Now and Plan) curriculum to either the parent or child group during the 13-week SNAP group cycle. SNAP is a cognitive-behavioral strategy that helps children and parents regulate their emotions by getting them to stop, think, and plan positive alternatives before they act impulsively.

Job Responsibilities:

• Attend 5-day core SNAP training.
• Participate in intake and assessment processes.
• Show commitment to the SNAP program and its values.
• Join weekly pre-briefing and de-briefing sessions.
• Attend additional SNAP meetings as needed.
• Build rapport with clients and ensure high satisfaction.
• Conduct thorough intakes and assessments.
• Maintain contact with clients as appropriate.
• Complete required paperwork on time.
• Transport clients in a personal vehicle when needed.
• Visit or work at offsite locations with safe transportation.
• Demonstrate cultural competency in service provision.
• Communicate effectively with diverse individuals.
• Use active listening, validation, and patience in group settings.
• Conduct role-plays during training.
• Assist with intake paperwork and assessments.
• Meet families at home or community locations.
• Schedule and conduct pre-briefing for classes.
• Complete de-briefing and pack up materials after group sessions.
• Help with client group reminder logs and weekly evaluations.
• Conduct make-up sessions as needed.
• Complete service documentation and administrative tasks.
• Provide input on program changes and participate in redesign.
• Participate in meetings and work sessions.
• Perform other tasks as needed to ensure service delivery.
• Use basic computer skills.
• Handle tasks assigned by supervisors.
• Trained to access protected health information.

Location: Pasco County

WHAT YOU NEED:

High School diploma required. 10+ years’ experience related to engaging, teaching, and training in the child welfare field. Experience working with at-risk children and families. Experience in CINS/FINS, Non-Residential, and Residential/Shelter settings a plus.

Physical Requirements: Ability to travel regionally on a regular basis and statewide as needed; ability to bend, lift, and carry 30 pounds.
