Position Summary:  The Application Technician is responsible for the top coat and e-room components of the automated powder coating paint line.

TOP COAT Application Technician Duties and Responsibilities:

• Preparing Top Coat Powder
• Color Changes
• Wiping Down
• Setting Paint Recipes
• Making Radiator Adjustments for Cool Down
• Operating Wheelabrator
• Turning on Dust Collector
• Checking Shot Levels in Wheelabrator
• May perform other duties as assigned
• Quality Responsibilities
  1. Monitoring Mil Thicknesses
  2. Monitoring Steel Temps at Top Coat
  3. Checking Blast Media Ratio
  4. Visual Inspection
• PM and 6S Responsibilities
  1. OPM-038 Top Coat
  2. Top Coat Area
  3. Oven Isle
  4. Gel Cool Down Area
  5. Powder Storage Room

 E-ROOM Application Technician Duties and Responsibilities:

• Setting Paint Recipes
• Loading Powder
• Organizing Powder
• Operating All Functions of E-Room
• Completing Daily, Weekly, and Monthly PM’s
• Setting Oven Recipes
• Setting Line Speed
• May perform other duties as assigned
• Quality Responsibilities
  1. Visual Inspections
  2. Mil Checks on Primer
  3. Blast Profile Checks
  4. Blast Cleanliness Checks
• PM and 6S Responsibilities
  1. OPM-037 E-Room
  2. E-Room Area
  3. Gel Oven Area

Application Technician Skills and Specifications:

• Ability to safely operate a fork truck
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
• Solid problem-solving skills.
• Ability to contribute and work in a team environment.
• Ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness to ensure first quality of work.
• Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with people in the course of work.
• Willingness to work additional hours in order to meet tight deadlines.

Application Technician Education and Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Application Technician Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of Application Technician, the employee is continually required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee is occasionally required to crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Application Technician Work Environment:

While performing the duties of Application Technician, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
