Global Gateway Advisors is seeking a Managing Director, Health, based in the New York City area, to help lead and grow our health practice. This senior leadership role is for an experienced agency leader who can advise clients on complex business and reputational challenges, build enduring relationships, develop new business and lead high-performing teams. The ideal candidate brings at least 15 years of healthcare communications experience and a strong record of turning strategy into measurable results.

The successful candidate will:

• Help shape and execute the growth strategy for GGA’s health practice.
• Serve as a senior counselor and relationship lead for major healthcare clients.
• Originate, win and expand business across existing and new client relationships.
• Lead teams with clear direction, high standards and a commitment to developing talent.
• Create distinctive communications strategies for complex healthcare, business and policy challenges.

They can work across the healthcare ecosystem, including pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, medtech and health technology, healthcare delivery, health insurance, public health and nonprofit advocacy.

Requirements

• Partner with firm leadership to set priorities and drive profitable growth for the health practice while maintaining exceptional client service.
• Act as senior strategic counselor and relationship lead for major healthcare accounts, working closely with firm and practice leadership.
• Build and convert a strong new-business pipeline, expand existing accounts and contribute to proposals, pitches and commercial negotiations.
• Advise clients on corporate reputation, executive positioning, issues and crisis management, stakeholder engagement and business transformation.
• Lead integrated account teams, set clear expectations and ensure the work is strategic, creative, accurate and delivered efficiently.
• Coach and develop colleagues, provide direct and actionable feedback, and foster an inclusive, collaborative and accountable culture.
• Develop differentiated offerings, intellectual capital and thought leadership that strengthen GGA’s position in the health sector.
• Collaborate across GGA’s practices and geographies to bring the best expertise to clients and create new opportunities for the firm.
• Manage account economics, staffing and scope to support strong client outcomes and sustainable profitability.

Experience + Attributes

• At least 15 years of communications experience, including significant experience in a health-focused agency role and senior client leadership responsibilities.
• Demonstrated experience across one or more areas of healthcare, such as pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, medtech, health technology, healthcare delivery, health insurance, public health or nonprofit advocacy.
• A record of winning new business and growing and sustaining significant client accounts.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and overseeing complex, integrated assignments.
• Excellent presentation, storytelling, writing and verbal communication skills.
• Comfort moving between enterprise-level strategy and hands-on oversight of execution.
• Highly organized, proactive and calm under pressure, with strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills.

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $225,000.00 to $250,000.00. Final compensation will reflect the candidate’s experience, skills and firm performance.
