In this role, you'll:

Be an experienced Plant Operator and join either our Maintenance or Construction Crew based in Narrandera NSW – As we have 2 openings, 1 in Construction and 1 in Maintenance Crews.

• Operate a variety of major plant items that are used in road construction and maintenance projects in our Narrandera Construction or Maintenance crew.
  
  
• This role also undertakes a range of Road Worker Grade 3 duties when required.
  
  
• Perform routine and complex labouring/manual tasks, including safely operating a range of large/complex plant items under limited supervision
  
  
• Perform maintenance activities that may include, but not limited to, widening & barrier installs, enhanced road pavements, overtaking lanes, grass cutting, drain cleaning, pavement repair and incident response and heavy patching works
  
  
• Perform tasks related to the application of bituminous sealing materials such as emulsion
  
  
• Work collaboratively with the team including Team Leaders and Works Supervisors to manage the day-to-day operations and tasks as well as resolve issues that may arise
  
  
• On occasion camp away from home and travel throughout the region to attend worksites when required
  
  
• Be prepared to attend after hours callouts and work weekends when required
  
  
• Keep up to date with WHS legislation and policies and procedures as it relates to minimising risk and keeping to safe work standards
  
  
• Work a 9-day fortnight roster

Note: To be considered for the Construction Crew you must be prepared to camp away from home and travel across the region when required. The Maintenance Crew will have less campaign away requirements, however, after hours callouts and weekend work may be required.

About you

We’re seeking a team player and experienced plant operator who is experienced in safe and efficient operations of Bobcats, Soil Stabilisers, Rollers, Loaders, Excavators, and other general road maintenance equipment used for pavement construction and maintenance works

You’ll be confident, and highly capable operating major plant and have proven experience rectifying simple hazards without direction and reporting them accordingly.

You must hold the following qualifications:

• White Card
  
  

• Current driver’s licence
  
  
• Traffic control certifications (Implement Traffic Control/Prepare Work Zone) or willing to obtain before commencing

Whilst not essential a truck licence, or the ability to load plant on the back of truck/trailer would be highly desirable.

We take the WH&S and the management of fatigue of our employees seriously. Therefore, to be successful in this role it is a requirement that you must reside within a 70km distance of our Narrandera Depot.
