Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Sector has an opening for a Staff Data Engineer to join our Digital Strategy & Analytics team. This position is located in Melbourne, Florida.
Job Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Develop and implement a program-specific Data strategy that supports the Enterprise Data Strategy
Manage Data Science practices for prescriptive, predictive, diagnostic, descriptive, and cognitive analytics through automation, storage elasticity, and on-demand self service provisioning of all data types and lifecycles
Enable storing, searching, processing, and securing of extremely large structured or unstructured data sets
Proactively identify issues and inefficiencies within the business to develop and deploy solutions
Drive the adoption of data analysis methodologies across program operations for improved performance analysis
Lead the monitoring and analysis of operational data to identify trends, issues and opportunities, and provide recommendations/solutions
Actively engage with program leaders and key stakeholders to identify and understand operational problems
Design and manage the data infrastructure, network, and system automation
User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) design and development
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science (BS) in a related Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline and 12 years of related professional experience; OR Master of Science in a related STEM discipline and 10 years of related professional experience
Experience developing and executing data strategies that consider big data solutions such as data lakes and/or data warehouses
Understanding of elastic data storage and archive storage lifecycle management
Experience with data analytics tools (e.g., Python, SQL, Tableau, etc.) and techniques
Experience with large scale distributed software and agile software development methodologies
Leadership or management experience over a technical team
Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance (DoD must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Science
5 years of hands-on software development experience
Strong understanding of business and engineering processes, tools, and techniques
Experience with UI/UX design and development
Excellent ability to communicate complex analytical subject matter across varied audiences
Proven ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams
Demonstrated experience developing product visions and fostering effective engineering teams
Demonstrated technical leadership of product development teams that have successfully delivered customer-driven products
Experience developing big data solutions related to elastic data storage and archive storage lifecycle management
Experience collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing insights from multiple data sources
Experience with NoSQL Databases (e.g., MongoDB, Neo4J, etc.)
Understanding of Northrop Grumman policy, process, and products
Ability to make decisions with minimal support
Experience in a program management role
Top Secret clearance

Salary Range: $147,700.00 - $221,500.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
