Job: Material Handler - Shipping and Receiving
Location: Luling, TX

This job is essential for maintaining the safe and effective flow of materials within the R&D campus and to external locations, ensuring that all handling, storage, and transportation complies with applicable safety regulations.

At X-Bow Systems, the Material Handler - Shipping and Receiving will be responsible for managing all aspects of inventory control, shipping and receiving, as well as handling chemical and ordnance materials and hazardous waste activities for an R&D production campus. This role will play a crucial part in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials both on-site and to various locations, while adhering to strict safety and regulatory guidelines.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Receives and records new inventory as it is delivered; inspects and stores it according to procedure.
  • Tracks inbound shipments and ensure received shipments are appropriately stored and distributed to other locations as needed.
  • Conducts physical inventory, compares results to computerized inventory, and reconciles any differences.
  • Coordinates shipping activities out of the warehouse, for distribution to other sites and customer deliveries.
  • Prepares outgoing shipments according to hazardous material regulations.
  • Handle hazardous material and ordnance, including storing and packaging, in accordance with safety and operating procedures.
  • Monitors campus hazardous waste output with engineering team and request disposal as needed per established procedure, maintains appropriate required records.
  • Maintain tool control program for on-site and off-site use.
  • Maintain calibration records and coordinate calibration procedures and exchange of tooling across geographical sites.
  • Maintains compliant logs and records for hazardous materials stored on-site.
  • Follow all operating instructions and safety policies.
  • Tracks and resolves equipment maintenance issues in house or utilizing 3rd party vendors as directed.

  • Processing Warehouse Consumables Materials Ordering
  • Monitoring In House PPE Supplies and Inventory
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to anticipate and solve problems.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be willing to learn how to use new equipment and WMS systems.
  • Must be able to get certified to operate forklift & telehandler.
  • Must adhere to all safety rules and requirements
  • Ability to identify priorities and adjust timelines accordingly.
  • Must have proficient with data entry and inventory software and systems.
  • Must have working Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Desired Skills/Abilities:

  • HAZWOPER 40-hour certification
  • Formal Prior Hazardous Shippers Certification or Training
  • Prior commercial or military hazardous transportation and shipping experience a plus.
  • Commercial Driver's License with Hazmat endorsement

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
