This onsite/hybrid position will be in Beerse, Belgium. Alternate onsite/hybrid locations can be equally considered at other Innovative Medicine Supply Chain (IMSC) sites such as Schaffhausen, Switzerland; Latina, Italy; Gurabo, Puerto Rico; Cork, Ireland; Titusville, NJ US; Athens, GA US; Geel, Belgium or Leiden; Netherlands.

The Director MSAT Business Management will sit on the Manufacturing Science & Technology (MSAT) Strategic Operations & Packaging (SO&P) Leadership Team.
 

Key Responsibilities:

The Director MSAT Business Management leads a team that identifies, develops and optimizes services for the MSAT organization which is a workforce of about 1,000 scientists and engineers consisting of global and site staff as well as external staff.

  • Capability Developing & Upskilling: Continuously work with leaders to understand what critical capabilities and skills are needed now and, in the future, to ensure a continued competitive advantage technically, scientifically and business wise.

  • Curricula & Training: Manage training curricula and training for general job requirements and capability development and upskilling.

  • Build, Buy or Borrow: Continuously evaluate what resource requirements and associated capabilities and skills need to be internal and can be developed, or require to be hired or sourced externally.

  • Centralized Technical Service: free up capacity for our engineers and scientists for essential but non-scientific/technical services: document support, scientific writing, change control, ... as well as to manage short term fluctuations or needs in resources

  • Business Systems Development & Support: envision, develop and maintain digital solutions to optimize business processes.

  • Communication Strategies & Execution: essential support for effective communication materials at all levels of the organization.
     

This team identifies and centralizes work & services across MSAT, then optimizes and standardizes it and lastly automates and/or outsources if applicable.

The leader of this team needs to be able to identify opportunities, shape them, deploy them and achieve adoption across MSAT; an entrepreneurial change agent.

This role partners with leaders across the organization as well business partners such as HR, IT, Procurement and others.

This leader creates a culture of empowerment, collaboration, flexibility and competitiveness by optimizing talent, building capabilities, increasing global business acumen, and industry knowledge supported by increased employee engagement across all areas of MSAT.

The leader will communicate performance, progress, challenges, and achievements to stakeholders at all levels, including senior management. Identify risks associated and develop proactive mitigation strategies.

Integrate Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and Leadership Imperatives into team objectives and decision-making processes.
 

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required.

  • Any advanced degree or equivalent experience relevant to this role is preferred.

Experience & Skills:

Required:

  • Minimum of 10-15 years of leadership including a global environment.

  • Prior successful leadership experience in a related role is required.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain a diverse team and nurture an inclusive culture to realize the vision and mission throughout the organization

  • Excellent organizational skills; in organizing/prioritizing work/projects, managing resources and budgets, inspiring a global diverse team, developing others.

  • The ability to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, and demonstrate resiliency and high productivity with constraints of schedule and budget

  • Strong cross-functional business acumen with a comprehensive understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of influencing without authority, at all levels of the organization, and managing partner relationships effectively with various stakeholders

  • Proficient in tracking process improvements and measuring business value realization

Other:

  • Requires proficiency in English (written and verbal) to communicate effectively and professionally

  • Ability to work internationally across various time zones

  • May require up to 20% domestic and/or international travel, depending on business requirements

  • Requires the ability, through our flexible work policy, to work on-site a minimum of three days each week, with the option of two remote workdays each week
