Job Title: Estimator

Department: Estimating

Purpose of Job: Provide accurate estimate on jobs

Major Duties

• Supportive of overall company goals and activities.
• Represent the company in a professional and ethical manner.
• Guarantee satisfaction and value for our customers.

• Determine the most economical production plan based on specs provided.
• Determine the most economical materials based on specs provided.
• Refine specs provided to maximize value of readily available processes and materials.
• Attend daily production meetings.
• Prepare pricing estimates as needed.

Order entry

• Verify available inventory of stock items (paper).
• Solicit estimates from outside vendors as needed.

Purchasing

• Purchase paper based on usage of stock items.
• Purchase paper based on job orders of non-stock items.
• Check in paper and place date and job number on it.
• Verify and approve subcontract and paper invoices.  

Invoicing

• Determine costs of materials, time and services to produce each order.
• Determine sales price of each order based on estimate/grid pricing/sales representative commitment. 
• Determine profitability of each order.

Special Duties

When asked, assist with other duties when assigned.

Reports to: Owners

Works with: CSR, Sales, Prepress, Press operator, and Mailing Department.
