About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our data team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in building scalable data pipelines and working with big data technologies, particularly within the Azure ecosystem. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust data solutions that support analytics and business intelligence initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using PySpark and Databricks.
  • Integrate and orchestrate data workflows using Azure Data Factory (ADF).
  • Write efficient and optimized SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
  • Manage and maintain PostgreSQL databases, ensuring data integrity and performance.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements.
  • Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting mechanisms.
  • Optimize data storage and processing for performance and cost-efficiency.
  • Document data processes, architecture, and workflows.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and PySpark for data processing.
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks and Azure Data Factory.
  • Solid understanding of SQL and experience with PostgreSQL or similar RDBMS.
  • Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (e.g., Git).
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure.
  • Knowledge of Delta Lake, Lakehouse architecture, or similar technologies.
  • Exposure to DevOps practices and infrastructure-as-code tools.
