Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to meet and greet patients in a friendly, professional demeanor.  
• Responsible for preparing treatment rooms/space/equipment for patients and dental professionals.
• Ensures accurate patient chart/dental/medical histories are provided for each patient visit.
• Ensures that dental tools and all other equipment are available for the dental professionals at the time of patient visit.  
• Responsible for documentation or the checkup and the treatment plan(s).
• Follows sanitation guidelines and sterilizes dental instruments, equipment and facilities.
• Take dental x-rays.
• Performs all duties using universal precautions and appropriate protective equipment as required to reduce exposure to infection, bloodborne pathogens and hazardous materials.
• Knowledge of dental terminology is preferred.

Qualifications

Education, Licenses, Certification and Experience

To apply for this position, you would need a high school diploma or a GED to work as a trainee.  Dental assistant candidates will need to provide a copy of their license.

A valid Washington State driver's license is required, and you must be eligible for the Colville Tribes vehicle insurance and maintained throughout employment.  

Basic Life Support, HIPAA and Privacy Act training certification is required within 90 days of hire.

Working Conditions

LRCHC has ADA compliant facilities.  The position requires the ability to stand for long periods of time.  May require lifting of 15 – 50 lbs.  Must be proficient with computers and willing to learn new software applications.
