TEMPORARY Winter Seasonal (with $1,000 signing bonus)

Department: Public Works Location: Glenview, IL

Description
The Village is seeking temporary part-time seasonal workers to provide general assistance to various maintenance crews during the winter months. The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to: snow/ice removal operations, pothole patching, sewer cleaning, and shop/building maintenance. Candidates with previous snow plowing experience is a plus, but not required. Training with vehicles/ equipment and familiarization of plow routes will be provided upon hire. Seasonal winter positions will work a 7am to 3pm shift, Monday through Friday. This may also require some after-hours (overtime) work during snow and ice events which may include weekends and holidays. Ideal candidates will have a flexible schedule, and be available to work at all hours. The general duration of these temporary positions is approximately December 1 to March 15. Candidates?must?possess a valid Illinois CDL class B license.

Minimum Qualifications
Candidate must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid CDL class B.

Must be able to lift or move up to 50 lbs on a frequent basis, move or lift 50-100 lbs on an occasional basis.

Salary/ How to Apply
Hourly Rate: $31.00 per/hour, depending on past experience. Also, a $1,000 signing bonus will be paid; $500 added to first payroll check and additional $500 on last payroll check at the end of the winter season. No fringe benefits, and not IMRF eligible.
