Responsible for procuring stock and non-stock medical supplies, equipment, and services for the operational management of Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. This process involves obtaining bids, establishing Purchase Orders, reviewing leases and contracts. Also job involves processing orders, meeting with vendor representatives to review current and new products. Responsible for performing cost value analysis on all inventory stock & non-stock. Responsible for coordination of appropriate surgeon personnel regarding any OR supply change, backorder, or GPO mandate supply change.
Education and Formal Training: High School Diploma; Collegiate level accounting or business is preferred but not mandatory
Work Experience: 2 years of Buyer or Procurement related work experience recommended
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Standard business practices, principles and practices of purchasing, including ethics, Internet Research, bid preparation, quality control, inventory standards, data collection techniques; general law of contracts; office procedures and office automation software (excel, word processing, powerpoint)
