The Opportunity:

Intermediate level position; responsible for maintaining accurate records of all inventories. Handle all paperwork and follows all procedures to meet this goal. Verify all orders received and shipped and ensure that the orders are properly accounted for in the company’s records. Account for all defective or damaged products and follows with appropriate corrective action. Manage and reconcile all cycle counts.

Avantor is looking for a dynamic Material Controller to support critical operations at our customer’s biopharma in Blanchardstown, Dublin! In this multi-disciplinary role, you will support the day-to-day operations of a site inventory management program. This includes inventory management, supporting the day-to-day movement of stock, metric review, purchasing, receiving, storeroom management, product delivery and general customer services activities within a GMP controlled environment.

Working Hours: Day Shift from Monday to Friday with flexible starting hours (07:00- 09:00).

The team   

As a small team of 2 persons, you belong to our department of Lab and Production Services, which supports big pharmaceutical companies and laboratories all over the world, in Research and Development within the Life Sciences industry. 

What we’re looking for 

Education

Completed leaving certificate and 1- 3 years of equivalent experience as material handler/inventory replenishment, warehouse or relevant field.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, inventory, or material handling role—ideally in a regulated or GMP environment

  • Comfortable working in cleanrooms or clean-controlled areas (GMP experience preferred but training can be provided)

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Tech-literate: able to work with handheld scanners, basic ERP or inventory systems, and Microsoft Excel

  • Strong communication and accountability—you'll be representing our brand onsite daily

  • A proactive, organised approach with the ability to work independently or as part of a small site team

  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job 
     

  • Familiarity with SAP is a plus

  • Previous experience within a GMP controlled environment is a big plus

How you will thrive and create an impact

  • Receive, inspect, and document incoming materials in line with GMP and customer protocols

  • Deliver materials to designated storage or point-of-use locations (POUs), including GMP clean areas

  • Maintain accurate inventory records using electronic inventory management systems

  • Perform regular cycle counts and stock reconciliations

  • Prepare materials for internal distribution or dispatch

  • Handle temperature-sensitive, high-value, and/or regulated materials with precision

  • Support disposal and returns process in accordance with site SOPs

  • Comply with all site-specific Health, Safety & Environmental (EHS) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements

  • Collaborate with site leads, procurement teams, and end users to resolve discrepancies or urgent requests

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across logistics and inventory control
