About the Role:

The full-time LTSR Mental Health Technician plays a crucial role in providing compassionate care and support to individuals with mental health challenges in a Long-Term Structured Residence (LTSR) setting. This position is focused on promoting the well-being and recovery of male and female adult residents, over the age of 18, by implementing individualized treatment plans and facilitating therapeutic activities. The technician will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to monitor residents' progress, ensuring a safe and supportive environment. By fostering positive relationships and encouraging participation in daily activities, the technician helps residents develop essential life skills. Ultimately, the goal of this role is to empower individuals on their journey to recovery and reintegration into the community.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma and two years direct care experience, or
• Associates degree and 6 months direct care experience, or
• Bachelors degree with at least 12 semester hours of coursework in a mental health field
• Direct Care Experience includes experience working in a mental health or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years’ experience in a structured residential setting.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles.

Responsibilities:

• Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
• Implement and monitor individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the clinical team.
• Facilitate group and individual therapeutic activities to promote social skills and emotional well-being.
• Maintain accurate documentation of residents' progress and any significant changes in behavior or condition.
• Provide crisis intervention and support to residents in distress, ensuring their safety and well-being.

The required skills for this position include strong communication and interpersonal abilities, which are essential for building rapport with residents and effectively collaborating with the treatment team. Organizational skills are vital for maintaining accurate documentation and managing multiple responsibilities throughout the day. Empathy and active listening are crucial in providing emotional support and understanding the unique needs of each resident. Preferred skills, such as knowledge of therapeutic techniques, enhance the technician's ability to facilitate engaging activities that promote recovery.
