Position Summary:
The Operations Watch Technician is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and responding to alerts across network, server, and infrastructure environments within a 24/7 operations center. This role requires a strong understanding of network and server technologies to identify issues, perform initial troubleshooting, escalate incidents appropriately, and ensure system availability and performance.
Hours: Tuesday-Saturday 2pm-10:30pm

Responsibilities:
- Monitor network, server, and infrastructure systems using enterprise monitoring tools to detect performance issues, outages, and security events.
- Respond to system alerts, alarms, and incidents in accordance with established SLAs and escalation procedures.
- Perform initial triage and troubleshooting of network, server, and application issues to determine root cause and impact.
- Escalate incidents to Tier II/III engineers, vendors, or on-call staff as required, providing detailed documentation and diagnostics.
- Track, update, and resolve incidents and service requests using ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy, Jira).
- Monitor server health, including CPU, memory, disk utilization, backups, and system logs.
- Support basic network troubleshooting, including connectivity issues, routing, switching, firewall alerts, and VPN status.
- Execute standard operating procedures (SOPs) and runbooks during incidents and maintenance events.
- Communicate system status, outages, and resolution updates clearly to internal teams and stakeholders.
- Participate in shift handoffs, documenting open issues and operational status.
- Assist with routine maintenance, patching, and change management activities as directed.
- Maintain accurate operational documentation and contribute to process improvements.
