The Role

 The Food Safety and Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for conducting food safety, pre-operational, and Good Manufacturing Practices inspections to ensure compliance with rules and regulations. The technician will also be responsible for monitoring specific food safety controls to ensure that they fall within the established critical limits.  As needed, the candidate may be required to work on specific food safety projects, perform basic food safety training with line staff and any other task required to support safe food production within the operations.

What You’ll Do

• Perform routine food safety and sanitation audits as assigned, clearly and concisely capture audit findings and report with clear corrective actions
•  Monitor sanitation and GMP systems to determine compliance with established standards and take appropriate corrective actions.
• Actively promotes a strong GMP culture by adhering to established GMPs and providing coaching as necessary for line employees
• Assist with environmental testing 
• Engage sanitation partners to execute corrective actions and verification
• Effectively communicate inspection findings in a timely manner through established channel
• The role is for the overnight shift

 What You Bring

•   Bachelor’s or associate degree in a science discipline is preferred 
•  Must be able to speak, read and write English
•     Excellent oral and written communication skills
•     Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
•    Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a preferred
•    Ability to work effectively within a team
•    Attention to detail 
•    Must be able to work at least one weekend day per week
•    Must be able to work in a cold environment (average temperature 40oF) 
•    NYC Food Protection or Servsafe certificate a plus

• The expected compensation for this role is $ $27.50 - $28.75 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be discussed during the interview process.
