Your Impact in This Role

The Director of Internal Audit will report to both the Group CFO and the Chair of the Audit Committee, with 2 Internal Audit Managers reporting to them. Internal Audit is a management support function that provides an objective and independent appraisal of the effectiveness of the company's system of internal control. All entities and activities of the Group are subject to audits, aiming to ensure that transactions comply with company policies, are properly documented, controlled, approved, and recorded in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

Annual Audit Plan:

• Lead the development of the annual audit plan based on risk assessment.
• Perform audit assignments as outlined in the Sibelco Group audit plan.

Reporting to the Board:

• Report audit findings to operational management, group management, and the Sibelco Audit Committee.
• Provide management with assurance regarding the correct and honest conduct of business and reporting.

People Management:

• Attract, lead, coach, appraise, and develop the functional team.
• Manage, coordinate, and develop the Internal Audit team.
• Foster a positive work climate, diversity, inclusion, employee well-being, and continuous improvement.

Continuous Improvement:

• Implement best audit and business practices.
• Propose recommendations to improve the control environment and efficiency.
• Monitor compliance with the Minimum Standard of Internal Controls.

Enterprise Risk Management:

• Identify and assess areas of significant business risk.
• Advise management in cases of law violations or fraud.
• Reduce business and financial risks through effective controls.

Project Management:

• Manage ad hoc audit projects requested by Executive Management or the Audit Committee.
• Participate in projects with a focus on due diligence.

What You Bring to the Table

• Practical understanding of the industrial mineral industry.
• Proven track record in Enterprise Risk Management.
• Strong analytical and project management skills.

• Awareness of cultural differences and business variations across countries.
• Open-minded, proactive, diplomatic, and self-motivated.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Educational Level: Master’s Degree.
• Experience: 10+ years in audit (internal or external) and management.
• Language Skills: Proficient in English (verbal and written); additional languages are an asset.
