JOB PROFILE DESCRIPTION

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE BUSINESS:

As a Programme Management Office Lead (Consultant) at Kainos, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that a high-quality service is provided to the Delivery Management and Operations capabilities within the Digital Services business unit, demonstrating best practice throughout. 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a Programme Management Office (PMO) Team across multiple locations
  • Implementing clear guidance on the duties and responsibilities of the Staffing and PMO team, including SLAs and communicating to the business
  • Managing, assigning, and prioritising duties and tasks to meet goals and business needs
  • Managing performance of the team including career development, identifying talent, and addressing performance shortfalls
  • Supporting Delivery Managers with tasks such as project onboarding, risk management, contract management activities
  • Overseeing the use of unfunded time codes, including acting as an approval and challenge function
  • Working closely with the Operations Team to ensure there is support to meet current and forecasted demands from both the Delivery, Staffing and Sales teams
  • Ensuring compliance of the month end closure process
  • Manage any escalations/issues as necessary
  • Actively identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Working with the team to identify areas for improvement and match skills to any skill gaps.
  • Applying continual service improvement throughout and clearly communicating this to business stakeholders
  • Routing and delegation of PMO support requests via Jira & tracking Team SLAs
  • Working with and providing guidance to client PMO teams to ensure projects run smoothly
  • Completing ad-hoc duties and providing support to Delivery Managers/Operations Managers/Head of Operations as required

MINIMUM (ESSENTIAL) REQUIREMENTS:

  • An excellent ability to identify solutions in complex scenarios
  • Experience in Kimble or a PSA tool
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
  • An eye for detail and accuracy
  • Concise, articulate, analytical and enthusiastic
  • Business focused and results driven
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Understands and respects requirements for confidentiality and security
  • Logical, thorough, and reliable
  • Ability to foster good working relationships and to deal with a fast moving and constantly changing working environment
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Ability to prioritise and balance multiple tasks and demonstrate initiative
  • Ability to anticipate future needs and the initiative to plan ahead
  • Able to work efficiently and accurately when under pressure to meet tight deadlines

DESIRABLE

  • People management experience
  • Experience in a Project Management Office role
  • Experience with PSA software (e.g. Kimble or Workday)
  • Demonstrate negotiating and influencing skills
  • Experience with JIRA, Kimble, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint or Workday.
