POSITION GUIDE AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Position Title: Lab Facilitator
Contract: 181 Days
Salary: Classified Salary Schedule
Primary Function: To serve as a computer lab facilitator in the assigned area and comply with all District policies related to assignment. Assignment can be changed based on District need and qualifications of employee.
Illustration of responsibilities and key job duties:
Demonstrate knowledge of hardware and software applications for the purpose of ensuring availability of instructional materials
Displays an understanding of the specific needs of all students assigned and plans ways to assist those specific needs of the students
Collaborates with classroom teacher, college professor, virtual instructor to ensure a continuity of the learning experience
Monitors groups of students in the computer lab for the purpose of ensuring a safe and positive learning environment
Maintains lab equipment, supplies, work aids, etc for the purpose of ensuring availability of items as may be required
Creates a classroom environment of mutual respect and rapport with students
Establishes a culture of high expectations and individual accountability for all students
Manages classroom effectively which compliments efficient use of instructional time
Effective use of protocols, rules, and procedures are evident in the management of the classroom
Organizes the physical space of the classroom to complement multiple venues of instruction
Classroom procedures are established to ensure effective communication with students regarding all aspects of instruction
Employs age appropriate instruction of computer users
Effectively engages all students in learning
Demonstrates flexibility in regards to scheduling around interim and standardized assessments
Maintains accurate records as required by building administrator
Displays professionalism in his/her conduct, service to students, advocacy, decision-making, and compliance with school/district policies and procedures
Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings, and special events as needed
Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations, and state and local board policy
Assist in supervising students throughout the school day, both inside and outside the classroom, including cafeteria, bus duty, and playground
Present for students a positive role model that supports the school climate and mission of the school district
Special Assignments: The computer lab facilitator may be assigned other duties relevant to his/her assignment not specifically listed in this position guide.
Organizational Relationships: The computer lab facilitator will be expected to respond to reasonable requests by building level leadership that are not in conflict with District policy or law.
Position Holder Qualifications: The RtI Instructional Assistant must hold a high school diploma or GED and 60 college hours or pass PRAXIS paraprofessional exam.
Employee Evaluation: The computer lab facilitator will be evaluated according to District policy and Arkansas law for classified employees.
