Position: Grocery Store Manager
Location: Gladstone
Employment Type: Perm – part time
Salary – General Retail Award Level 6
The Role
As the Grocery Store Manager at Booth’s Food Kingdom Grocery Store in Gladstone, you will be responsible for overseeing both grocery operations and administrative functions to ensure smooth and efficient store performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily store operations to ensure optimal performance, including retail floor readiness, stock management and rotation, donation handling, competitive pricing, store cleanliness, and front-end services (e.g. cash registers, POS).
- Deliver exceptional customer service and respond effectively to customer enquiries.
- Manage and promote the “I’ll Fight Hampers” program.
- Drive effective merchandising and marketing strategies, ensuring alignment with brand standards.
- Monitor and manage the store’s financial performance to meet or exceed budget targets.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of staff and volunteers, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Provide training and ongoing support to maintain team engagement and productivity.
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience in retail management.
- Sound understanding of workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements, with the ability to apply safe work practices, including manual handling and stock movement
- Strong knowledge of stock control and ordering processes.
- Proficient in Square POS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated leadership and people management skills, especially in community and volunteer-based settings.
- Experience in training and mentoring team members.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Current First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain one.
- Good physical fitness to meet the demands of the role.
- Current forklift licence or willingness to obtain one.
