Job Title: Systems Analyst 3
Location: Hybrid – Austin, TX (3 days onsite: Mon, Tue, Thu; 2 days remote)
Duration: 10 months
Rate: $70/hr on W2 only
Anticipated Start: 10-15-2025 - 08-31-2026

 
Position Overview
We are seeking a Systems Analyst 3 for a 10-month hybrid engagement in Austin, TX. This role involves analyzing business objectives, user requirements, and system capabilities to modernize applications and improve efficiency. The position requires deep expertise in Java EE, cloud-native transformation, DevSecOps, and Agile methodologies. The ideal candidate will have significant experience working with legacy codebases, supporting modernization initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional teams including architects, analysts, and security engineers.
 
Responsibilities
  • Analyze business objectives, user needs, and operational procedures to propose effective technology solutions.
  • Conduct cost/benefit studies to evaluate alternative solutions.
  • Write detailed descriptions of user needs, system functions, and technical specifications.
  • Review system capabilities, specifications, and scheduling constraints to determine feasibility of program modifications.
  • Contribute to the design, development, and deployment of enterprise-grade Java EE applications.
  • Analyze and document legacy components (EJB, JPA, SOAP services) to support modernization planning.
  • Support application rationalization, transformation planning, and cloud migration efforts.
  • Participate in technical walkthroughs and documentation to capture dependencies and integration points.
  • Collaborate with architects and analysts to ensure modernization retains core business logic.
  • Assist in moving legacy systems toward microservices and API-driven architectures.
  • Use AI code analysis tools to review legacy Java EE applications and extract business rules.
  • Identify and document technical debt, design patterns, and architectural details.
  • Work with business stakeholders and teams to validate requirements and adjust solutions.
 
Qualifications
  • 12 years (Required): Hands-on Java and Java EE development, including EJB, JPA, and SOAP-based services.
  • 12 years (Required): Proficiency with Java SE 1.8 and Java EE 8 on enterprise-grade application servers.
  • 12 years (Required): Experience with object-relational mapping and persistence layer integration.
  • 10 years (Required): Collaborating with architects, analysts, and security engineers on system alignment.
  • 8 years (Required): Experience with AI code analysis tools for static analysis and pattern recognition.
  • 8 years (Required): Knowledge of DevSecOps practices (automated testing, deployment, monitoring).
  • 8 years (Required): Exposure to cloud-native transformation (containerization, microservices, elastic scaling).
  • 8 years (Required): Experience working in Agile environments with sprint planning and backlog refinement.
  • 8 years (Required): Strong problem-solving skills and understanding of software design principles.
  • 6 years (Preferred): Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • 6 years (Preferred): Experience with requirement elicitation and documentation.
