Join our team as a Contact Lens Technician and you'll be at the forefront of providing quality patient care! To be successful in this role, you'll need excellent interpersonal and communication skills, plus a desire and ability to combine on-the-job training with a company provided classroom experience. Responsibilities:

What You Will Do:

  • Coordinate the ordering and maintaining of contact lenses.
  • Accurately gather, document, and handle patient contact lens orders and payments.
  • Teach patients how to care for and use contact lenses.
  • Verify insurance benefits per patient request, file contact lens claims for any patients wishing to use their insurance benefits. 
  • Cross-train to perform other tasks, including diagnostic testing and administrative front desk duties.

 

 

 

Qualifications:

What You Will Bring:

 

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Completion of a contact lens, optician or ophthalmic assistant or technician program strongly preferred (COA or COT)
  • Experience working as a contact lens technician, optician, ophthalmic technician or scribe is preferred
  • Experience with EMR tools a plus
  • Proficient with MS Office tools (outlook, excel, word)

 

$17.00 - $20.00 an hour applies to employees who are based in the state of Maryland.

 

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as, but not limited to full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility, annual educational reimbursement, and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
