Position Overview
We are now seeking a Senior level Actuary to join our growing team. This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in the expansion of the company’s actuarial department.
The Sr. Actuary will report directly to the Chief Actuarial Officer and contribute to a range of business decisions based on actuarial analysis and forecasting to maximize profit and growth. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of P&C actuarial experience and hold the FCAS designation.
Responsibilities
- Ongoing product line analyses of rates and results.
- Pricing and reserving for product lines.
- Rate change monitoring.
- Programming to automate actuarial and data-related tasks.
- Data-sharing with executive team and staff underwriters.
- Work cross-functionally to aid in the development of internal tools and products.
- Respond to ad hoc requests from product line and executive leaders.
- Other actuarial work as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, data science, statistics, finance, or related subjects.
- 7+ years of relevant actuarial experience.
- FCAS designation or close to obtaining FCAS.
- Required programming experience with SQL.
- Required programming experience with Python or R.
- Property & casualty experience required. Excess & surplus lines experience is preferred.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent analytical ability.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
