Compass Government Solutions is seeking a Physical Evaluation Board Liaison Office (PEBLO) Assistant to provide services to the 10th Medical Group at USAFA - Air Force Academy in Colorado. The PELBO Assistant provides administrative support for the Medical Evaluation Board (MEB) program, Disability Evaluation System (DES), Temporary Disability Retirement Listings (TDRL) and TRICARE Operations Patient Administration service.

This opportunity is part of a proposal effort. We are currently accepting applications from experienced candidates to be considered if the contract is awarded. Incumbents are encouraged to apply.

Schedule:
Monday - Friday
7 AM to 5:00 PM

Job Duties:

• Provides administrative support for the Medical Evaluation Board (MEB) program, Disability Evaluation System (DES), Temporary Disability Retirement Listings (TDRL) and TRICARE Operations Patient Administration service.
• Updates VTA, local tracking log, DES-ITI IAW with regulation and standard procedures.
• Schedules appointments to include medical, Compensation and Pension (C&P) exams as well as local medical evaluation board).
• Assist with the proper assembly of MEB case files, Review-In-Lieu-Of (RILO) and/or TDRL exams); tracks due dates.
• Assists customers with travel arrangements and DTS for Formal Physical Evaluation Board hearing (if required).
• Forwards completed MEB, TDRL packages to required offices per regulatory procedures.
• Dispositions case files IAW military Records Information Management System requirements and procedures.
• Responsible for obtaining, assembling, and forwarding all required documents and records for active duty, AFRC and ANG, Veteran Affairs Medical Service Coordinator, the local MEB, the IPEB, the FPEB and the IDES stakeholders in accordance with regulatory guidance. Advises service member and medical staff on PEB findings.
• When the Service member is incapacitated or incompetent for pay purposes and unable to manage their own legal affairs, the PEBLO provides guidance and assists the legal next-of- kin on the Service member's rights and benefits.
• Serves as a liaison between the Service members their respective commander and a multi-disciplinary team of primary care managers, other appropriate health care professionals, medical care case managers, non-medical case managers (e.g., Recovery Care Coordinators (RCC)), patient administration personnel, the Office of the Disability Counsel (ODC), the PEB and the Military Department Wounded Warrior Program liaison or advocate.
• Assists in impartial medical views, rebuttals.

• Must be a US Citizen
• Familiarity with Medical Terminology 
• Shall be able to read, understand, speak, and write English well enough to communicate effectively

Experience:

• At least 12 months of experience in an administrative assistant role.

Education:

• High School Degree or GED equivalency 

Certification:

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
