Position Description
Sensei Ag is seeking an R&D Technician to support the R&D Program Lead and team in conducting trials, including cultivar selection, recipe optimization, and pre-commercial testing. Responsibilities include irrigation, fertilization, crop maintenance, greenhouse setup and teardown, data collection, and harvesting, as well as assisting with the IPM program.
Responsibilities
- Actively participate in data collection by accurately recording key points of data as needed using electronic equipment.
- Monitor key plant and environmental variables to ensure success of trials.
- Participate in all growing activities to include pruning, pollinations, fertilizations, transplanting, harvesting, clean up and pest control activities.
- Assist in monitoring and calibrating control devices within the greenhouse.
- Ensure proper hygiene and safety protocols are followed at all times.
Minimum years of experience required
- At least 2 years’ experience working in a greenhouse environment.
Required Skills, Abilities and Qualifications
- Ability to accurately record data and work with database-type programs.
- Ability to work in an environment that can be hot and humid for extended periods of time.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills, Abilities and Qualifications
- Experience working in an R&D environment.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture or a related discipline.

FLSA Status
- Non-Exempt
Compensation
- $23.00 - $29.00 / hour, Non-Exempt, with a discretionary bonus of up to 10%.
