Job Description

  • Oversees Data Science’s analyses efforts on major projects, providing forward-looking and potentially transformative guidance to business leaders and decision makers.  

  • Discovers or invents new business opportunities through the original application of new optimization, simulation, forecasting, machine learning, artificial intelligence and statistical methods.  

  • Leads in the creation, design, development and execution of advanced prescriptive and predictive algorithms in mathematical optimization, simulation and artificial intelligence applications.  

  • Applies professional judgment, creativity, and knowledge of client priorities to anticipate needs and recommend solutions.  

  • Researches and applies emerging technologies and practices to enhance Data Science’s development and application company wide.  

  • Drives cross-functional efforts to improve efficiency and address emerging business challenges.  

  • Monitors industry and the competition to understand Data Science advances, changes and state-of-the-art approaches. 

Required Experience & Specialized Knowledge and skills 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 10 years’ experience in a related field; or a different combination, such as a master's degree and 8 years’ experience; a Ph.D. and 5 years’ experience in a related field; or 14 years’ experience in a related field. 

  • Mastery skills in analytical thinking, business acumen, consulting, data gathering and reporting and technology savvy. 

  • Acts with integrity and has mastered skills in building partnerships, collaborating with intent, developing trust and driving innovation.   

  • Other duties as needed or required. 

  • Requires physical ability and mental acuity to execute the duties of the position successfully within required timeframes to meet business requirements.
