Overview

Come join Highgate for the summer in one of our dynamic, paid internships!

We are currently offering an opportunity for a Data Services Intern to support our Data Services - Information Technology team. This 10-week immersive program is designed to provide hands-on experience, you will play a key role in supporting data analysis, reporting, and data quality initiatives that help optimize hotel operations and enhance the guest experience. You will collaborate closely with the Data Services team to manage and analyze data related to booking patterns, customer feedback, operational metrics, and other aspects of the business. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the hospitality industry’s data field, improve your data management skills, and contribute to decision-making processes—all while working in a fun and fast-paced environment.

This position is based from our corporate offices in Irving, TX.

 

Responsibilities

  •  Data Management & Reportingo Assist with data collection, cleansing, and validation to maintain data quality.o Work with team members to develop, update, and streamline dashboards and reports.o Ensure data consistency across various systems (e.g., PMS, CRM, Booking Engines).
  • Data Analysiso Use data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI) to create clear and actionable insights for teams across the organization.o Support predictive analytics projects to forecast demand, enhance inventory management, and optimize pricing strategies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaborationo Collaborate with marketing, operations, finance, and revenue management teams to understand data needs and gather requirements.o Assist in training hotel staff on data tools and interpreting data insights for operational efficiency.
  • Data Security & Complianceo Help ensure data handling procedures comply with relevant privacy laws and corporatepolicies.o Support the team in monitoring data access, security protocols, and adherence to bestpractices.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum Junior status.
  • Proficient in SQL and familiar with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).
  • Basic understanding of Excel, Python, or R for data manipulation.
  • Knowledge of database management and data warehouse concepts.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical mindset, and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to multi-task in a high-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to participate in a summer internship program of 10 weeks (June-August).
  • You must reside in Dallas, TX during the internship and work onsite.
  • Salary - $20/hr for 40 hour week /10 weeks.
