Essential Functions and Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure that all scale house operators are adequately trained in all aspects of scale house operations and security.
  • Responsible for scheduling of scale house operators and assuming coverage for vacant shifts due to absenteeism, vacation, etc.
  • Verify daily that incoming and outgoing trucks are weighed accurately and entered into the system correctly. 
  • Effectively and professionally communicate with all personnel conducting business at or through the scale house operations.
  • Utilize various software programs to communicate to various company departments such as operations, accounting, maintenance, etc.  Primary softward programs include Amino, Outlook, Excel, Word.
  • Periodically monitor CCTV cameras and respond to any suspicious activities or incidents and ensure guards are enforcing access control procedures and verifying identity of individuals prior to entry onto the premises.
  • Respond promptly to alarms and emergencies, providing assistance as needed.
  • Conduct investigations into security incidents, documenting findings and reporting to management.
  • Provide professional level communication and assistance to visitors, truck drivers, and contractors.
  • Implement loss prevention strategies to minimize theft or damage to property.
  • Maintain accurate records of security-related activities.
  • Provide coverage for the LAWMAN position at the plant main entrance for shifts not covered.
  • Assist with special projects assigned by Safety Manager.

 

Job Requirements:

Education/Experience/Qualification:

o    Effective verbal and written communication skills.

o    Computer skills required

o    Previous experience with security or scale house operations preferred

Additional Requirements:

o    Ability to work 8 hours shifts, Mon – Fri, as well as 12 hour shifts as needed, including working weekends, and on holidays for coverage assistance.

o    Must be able to speak English fluently.

o    Understand and follow all general safety, security, and scale house procedures.
