About the Department

The Resource Coordinator Evidence Based and Cultural Support Services supports the Sewa Uusim /Systems of Care programs with education and resources related to the research, training, and implementation of evidence based and promising practices interventions in delivery of services to the tribal community. There is a special emphasis on integration of Cultural Services and supports into all Sewa Uusim prevention, early intervention and treatment supports services. This includes all Sewa Uusim events and activities. The incumbent is responsible for the development and coordination of services and activities within Sewa Uusim for children, adolescents, young adults, and tribal families. Experience and understanding of the positive role of Native Culture on tribal families and communities is expected.

Position Duties

1. May perform supervisory duties for community members and youth working within the Sewa Uusim Model of Care duties may include prioritizing and assigning work, ensuring parents and youth are trained and follow policies and procedures, and maintain a healthy and safe working environment.
2. Work closely with the Sewa Uusim Program Manager to discuss projects and collaboration efforts within the Systems of Care and Wraparound in Indian Country programs.
3. Assist Program Managers in coordination of meetings, activities, and follow-up of the advisory boards, coalitions, and key stakeholders.
4. Coordinate support services including educational, community groups and resources focus programs for Sewa Uusim youth and families, wraparound teams, other departments and community services.
5. Write, review, and update semi-annual and annual report summarizing activities and program progress required by funding agency.
6. Present and facilitate workshops on key areas such as cultural awareness, Sewa Uusim services and resources, wellness, alcohol, and substances abuse and other prevention areas for families.
7. Assist with the development and implementation of assessment tools and procedures, including but not limited to, the creation of a database, survey tools, and reporting documents analyzing the data.
8. Participate in locally and nationally affiliated family organizations.
9. Develop, contribute, and maintain an activities/events calendar, newsletter and other marketing/outreach materials for Sewa Uusim focused on Family and Culture.
10. Assist other Sewa Uusim Resource Coordinators and staff in coordinating activities, events, and workshops.
11. Assure information is shared between communities, Families and Sewa Uusim.
12. Perform other duties of a similar nature or level as requested by supervisor or director.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of:

• Management principles;
• Skills in researching, implementation, and validating of evidence based interventions;
• Applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations;
• Outreach strategies;
• Ability to research Evidence Based models and modify them to Yaqui cultural symbols and norms;
• Community evidence based, cultural, and tribal resources;
• Applicable theories and principles related to youth and family behavioral health, using a Wraparound service model and Systems of Care principals;
• Behavioral Health policies and procedures;
• English language, grammar, and punctuation;
• Behavioral Health Life Skills training models;
• HIPAA and confidentiality requirements in a Behavioral Health setting;
• Yaqui culture, customs, resources and traditions and/or a willingness to learn.

• Manage and execute multiple tasks;

• Good communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with co-workers, supervisor, management, Council members, and the public. Have ability to sufficiently exchange or convey information and receive verbal and written work instructions.

Other Qualifications

Required:
Associate's Degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

Preferred:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field; and two (2) years of related experience.

• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

• Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Driver's License; 
• This position will require the incumbent to work non-traditional hours, nights, and weekends. 
• Must have a current Level 1 Arizona Clearance Card or be able to obtain the Level 1 Arizona Clearance Card within ninety (90) days of hire. Failure to maintain a current Level 1 Clearance Card will result in removal from this position.
