Please note that this role can be based in Melbourne, Sydney or Newcastle.

What You Will Get to Do:

This position will Design and automate software deployment and pipelines required to deploy required applications into SSNC private cloud and AWS. 

 
Key skills and responsibilities are: 

• Work with Various Architecture teams to develop framework for the DevOps Team to follow for efficiencies.
• Ability to understand infrastructure level issues with respect to the application of key software (eg, performance tuning operating systems, databases, firewalls). 
• Create terraform modules to be used in SSNC Private Cloud
• Maintain the existing CI/CD pipeline (Octopus Deploy, TeamCity, git, PowerShell)
• Assess and build new monitoring capability across on-premises & cloud hosted environments
• Design and implement new automation solutions using existing DevOps tools
• Manage the design and implementation of new pipelines
• Strong understanding of Database Technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server.
• Background with AWS Security Solutions such as WAFs and firewalls.
• Understanding of core networking principles and AWS tech on networking such as transit gateways.
• Ability to write terraform code, powershell, and unix scripting.
• Understanding of the Windows Server Operating System (group policies, active directory, etc)
• Ability to work with Grafana, Splunk, Site 24x7, github actions
• Implementation of testing and automation tools
• Worked with containerization technologies (eg, Kubernetes)
• Validate software code before implementation
• Mentoring and guiding team members
• Assist in Managing Projects through to completion with the DevOps Manager/Lead
• Working on establishing KPIs and measuring customer experiences.
• 2nd level support for DevOps Activities
• Act as 3rd level support for All DevOps Related Support issues.

What You Will Bring:

• IT degree, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years’ experience working in a DevOps role
• Solid understanding of DevOps practices and methods
• Working knowledge of SDLC principles and methodologies
• Previous Software Engineer &/or IT Operations role’s with significant scripting/coding experience
• Understanding of hosting production environments on AWS
• Advanced knowledge of Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery build pipelines
• Experience working with microservices, containerisation (docker) and infrastructure as code
• A passion for automating manual processes
• Keen to continuously improve & innovate
