JOB SUMMARY

This role, located in our large, very busy Wholesale Garden Center (PUA) is on the front lines of our customer service department. You will oversee the customer service aspect of our cash and carry area by supervising 10-15 product scanners.  You must be an excellent multitasker.  Your day will include guiding employees, modeling excellent customer service, being an information source to both employees and customers and liaising with all other departments in the PUA. The perfect candidate will thrive in an outdoor, fast-paced, customer facing environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Schedule, train and oversee the daily operations of the scanning team.
• Monitor scanner performance, handle customer complaints calmly and efficiently.
• Address any issues related to product scanning for customer sale.
• Enforce company policies regarding customer checkout procedures, and returns.
• Mentor and coach scanners to ensure excellent customer service.
• Assess daily customer traffic and assign scanners to areas as appropriate.
• Direct customer questions to appropriate departments.
• Continuously evaluate employee performance and offer constructive feedback.

OTHER DUTIES

• Execute the duties of the position in alignment with the Company Mission and Conduct Policies.
• Use technology as required by the position.
• Complete required annual trainings as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• 2+ years in a customer service role.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Model excellent customer service skills in a busy environment.
• Demonstrate strong and effective communication skills with team members and other groups in the department.
• Able to calmly resolve employee issues and disputes.
• Ability to train and mentor team members regarding process or assignment.
• Competently offer constructive feedback to team.
• Familiarity with handheld scanners, and Microsoft office products.
