Title: Senior Financial Analyst

Reports To: Chief Financial Officer
Pay: $105,000-$125,000/yr

We are seeking a Junior Financial Analyst to join our team to assist our organization in providing a successful work environment where our employees can be safe, thrive and give their personal best each day. This position is expected to work primarily out of our corporate office at 2450 North First Street, San Jose, CA and some job-related travel may be required.
Position Summary:
GreenWaste is seeking to fill the position of Senior Financial Analyst to provide support to one or more facilities. This strategic role will drive business performance through insightful analysis, forecasting, and decision support for senior leadership and the Board of Directors. The ideal candidate will bring a strong analytical mindset, business acumen, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead the development of the annual five-year Business Plan and quarterly reforecasts in collaboration with department heads and executive leadership.
- Analyze complex financial data and trends across revenue, cost of sales, operating expenses, and capital expenditures to provide actionable insights.
- Own and enhance financial models, including scenario planning, sensitivity analysis, and ROI modeling for new initiatives and investments.
- Monitor and interpret key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying drivers of variances and recommending corrective actions.
- Oversee the preparation of financial materials for strategic initiatives, including M&A, capital projects, and new business opportunities.
Executive Reporting & Decision Support
- Develop and present high-impact financial reports and dashboards for the Senior Management Team and Board of Directors.
- Synthesize data from multiple sources to create forward-looking presentations and business cases that support strategic decision-making.
- Serve as a financial advisor to business unit leaders, providing insights that drive operational efficiency and profitability.
- Lead competitive benchmarking, market analysis, and industry research to inform strategic planning.
Operational Excellence & Leadership
- Manage and mentor junior analysts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and analytical rigor.
- Drive process improvements in forecasting, reporting, and data management to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, Operations, and Corporate Development to ensure alignment of financial goals and execution.
- Oversee acquisition and investment data rooms, ensuring data integrity and readiness for due diligence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CPA/CFA preferred.
- 4–7 years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or investment analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with financial systems (e.g., NetSuite, Adaptive Insights, Tableau) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of financial modeling, forecasting techniques, and valuation methodologies.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Demonstrated leadership, initiative, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Language Skill:
- Proficiency in English
- Proficiency in Spanish (preferred but not required)
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to sit or stand in front of a computer for prolonged periods.
Work Environment:
Typical work week is Monday through Friday. Will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. Ability to work in setting with frequent changes in equipment, start/end time, service city/town and routes based on the operational needs for the day and or week.
