You will...
- Improve the current actuator models (steering, brake, throttle, and engine brake) to better represent their current behaviour.
- Look into better modeling of vehicle transmission system for better offline validation of the motion control system.
- Investigate switching to higher fidelity dynamics models and compare them to current models.
- Get new data, learn the parameters, and verify new model’s ability to represent the vehicle’s performance.
- Be part of a team of multidisciplinary Research Scientists and Engineers using an AI-first approach to enable safe self-driving at scale.
- Design, implement, train, and optimize vehicle dynamics and actuator models in simulation.

Qualifications:
- Bachelors or MS/PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AI, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Robotics and/or similar technical field(s) of study.
- Proficient in reading and coding in Python.
- Open-minded and collaborative team player with willingness to help others.
- Passionate about self-driving technologies, solving hard problems, and creating innovative solutions.
- Demonstrated research/software engineering experience: through previous internships, work experience, coding competitions, and/or research projects and papers.
- Strong quantitative background and coursework in or working knowledge of vehicle dynamics, signal processing, and data analysis.

Bonus:
- Previous experience working in autonomous vehicle sphere especially in simulation.
- Experience with tractor/trailer dynamics modeling and simulation.
Machine learning experience.
