Position Summary:

JCCA is seeking a dedicated Security Guard to help maintain a safe, welcoming, and secure environment for our staff, clients, and visitors. This is a vital position on our team, ensuring the protection and well-being of everyone on the residential campus while supporting our mission-driven work.

Job Responsibilities:

As a Security Guard at JCCA, you will play a key role in daily safety operations, including:

  • Patrolling the campus to safeguard personnel and property
  • Monitoring surveillance equipment and securing access points
  • Enforcing safety protocols to maintain a secure environment
  • Acting as primary contact for first responders during critical incidents (fire, active shooter, major disturbances, natural disasters)
  • Providing professional, courteous assistance to staff, clients, and visitors
  • Helping de-escalate client or visitor incidents when needed
  • Responding swiftly to emergencies and offering support
  • Documenting incidents, observations, and security activities
  • Checking doors, windows, emergency lighting, and fire safety equipment; reporting needed repairs
  • Managing vehicle access and reporting unauthorized vehicles
  • Following procedures for fire prevention, property patrol, and incident investigations
  • Maintaining an accurate daily visitor log at the guard booth
  • Communicating with alarm monitoring vendors when alarms are triggered
  • Monitoring CCTV and alarm systems for potential security breaches or hazards

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Security License
  • Must complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training and re-certify every 6 months (training provided)
  • Strong knowledge of security operations and procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and sound judgment
  • Customer-service oriented with the ability to work professionally at all levels
  • Experience with CCTV, access control, and alarm systems
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs safely
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook

Schedule:  Monday - Friday -8PM - 4AM

Pay Rate: $22 per hour
