Job Summary:
The Tester is responsible for conducting pressure, dimensional, and visual inspections on rubber hose products to ensure they meet company and customer specifications. This role plays a critical part in the quality control process and requires attention to detail, familiarity with testing equipment, and a strong understanding of safety protocols.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday 6:00AM - 2:30PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform hydrostatic, air pressure, and/or burst tests on hoses per production and quality control standards.
- Record and document all test results accurately, including serial numbers, lot numbers, and pressure readings.
- Identify nonconforming products and escalate issues to the Quality Supervisor or appropriate personnel.
- Set up and operate testing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Calibrate and maintain testing tools and equipment according to company procedures.
- Work closely with production teams to ensure products are tested promptly and meet deadlines.
- Visually inspect hoses for surface defects, labeling accuracy, and construction issues.
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling of pressurized systems and PPE usage.
- Maintain a clean and organized testing area.
- Assist with continuous improvement efforts related to testing procedures and quality assurance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in manufacturing or quality control preferred.
- Ability to read and understand production drawings, specifications, and test instructions.
- Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, industrial environment.
- Basic computer skills for data logging and reporting.
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to industrial equipment, pressurized systems, and testing materials.
- PPE required (safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots, etc.).
- Work may involve standing, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.
