Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 2 years of experience with an advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance.
  • Experience in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), with a focus on Revenue (ASC 606) Accounting in a public accounting or multinational company setting.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA).
  • Experience with public accounting, or industry experience in an operational accounting role.
  • Knowledge of United States GAAP, with a focus on business recognition.
  • Ability to have a collaborative style and work with cross-functional and international teams, and focus on continuous improvement.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Google accountants are a savvy bunch who handle the core accounting responsibilities at Google. You know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end to end. You'll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. You'll lead an accounting process from end-to-end. Other responsibilities include reconciling balance sheets and P&L accounts, and providing supplementary financial information for internal and external reports.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $102,000-$146,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Manage Business-to-Consumer (B2C) online and physical store, Device and Service business processes and financial accuracy. Maintain financial month-end close activities and accuracy, including efficiency of accounting processes related to assigned area, accounting policies, and balance sheet reconciliations, etc.
  • Partner closely across finance to support new or ongoing business initiatives, improve process efficiencies/scalability for continued operational excellence.
  • Review and maintain deferred business schedules relating to store/B2C businesses.
  • Facilitate with analytic review, internal and external year-end audits and provide insights to drive effective management decisions and ensure compliance.
  • Support system launches and migrations. Participate in system design and testing when applicable.
