QA Specialist Product Release 

 

As a member of the Product Community, the QA Specialist – Release performs market disposition activities in compliance with internal and global standards, for all Bayer products including Prescription Drugs, Over the Counter (OTC) products, Natural Health products and Medical Devices, and enhancing value generation using VITAL practices.

 

We have one full-time opening and two 12-month openings for this role, all based out of the Mississauga, Ontario office.  Bayer is committed to a flexible hybrid working environment.

 

What you will do:

 

  • Market disposition of bulk, finished products and product returns in coordination with internal and external stakeholders
  • Initiate and/or disposition batch specific transport non-conformances
  • Resolve and/or approve supply center deviations, protocols and quarantine releases
  • Review and approval of quality documentation e.g. change controls, SOPs, release specifications
  • Ensure the compliance of third-party contractors with internal systems
  • Act as a SME to support quality systems programs e.g. investigations, changes, audits and annual reviews
  • Support the special access products program
  • Coordinate and approve method transfers
  • Conduct annual employee qualification and onboarding training
  • Ensure the timely review and implementation of assigned global procedures and Health Canada regulations within your community.
  • Provide support to other team members or Community as needed, offering expertise and/or assistance to ensure cross-functional collaboration and the successful completion of shared objectives and outcomes.
  • Collect and analyze data for KPIs of the systems under your responsibility to evaluate the system performance, providing insights to drive improvements and efficiencies. Apply an entrepreneurial mindset to identify and implement improvements. Communicate roadblocks, results and retrospectives to the Community Senior Specialist/ Lead.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Canadian procedures for which you are the owner/author. Ensure these procedures align with corporate and regulatory standards, continuously improving processes to enhance efficiency and compliance.
  • Prepare thoroughly for audits and inspections of the systems under your responsibility. Define and oversee the implementation of appropriate corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) based on audit observations and findings, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Participate in a manner that fosters a culture of inclusion, continuous improvement, and accountability.

 

Who you are:

 

  • University degree or college diploma in science (e.g. Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical or life science industry in a Quality Assurance role (e.g. veterinary, natural health products). Experience working in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • Advanced knowledge of data integrity principles, good manufacturing practices, risk management and Health Canada regulatory guidelines and regulations
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal skills and technical writing skills.
  • High level of accountability, collaborative with an enabling and entrepreneurial mindset
