Position Overview
Millstone Township School District is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to serve as a Middle School Library Assistant. This position supports the school library program and daily operations by working with students and teachers, managing library systems, and performing administrative library tasks.
Requirements
10-month position
High school diploma required
Two (2) or more years of college preferred
Prior experience working with children preferred
Prior experience in a school or public library preferred
Proficient computer skills and the ability to learn library management software
Ability to learn and manage library software systems
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask and work collaboratively with staff and students
Responsibilities:
Support the Library Media Specialist, classroom teachers, and students in the efficient selection and use of multimedia and library materials
Assist with the day-to-day operations of the school library
Maintain and update the automated library catalog, including data entry, barcode labeling, inventory tracking, and generating reports
Process book, supply, and audiovisual orders; assist with annual library budget preparation
Perform minor book repairs and oversee routine maintenance of library equipment, including copiers
Maintain a welcoming, organized, and student-friendly library environment
Provide clerical and administrative support as needed
Salary Range: $31,431 - $31,956
Salary & Benefits: *Per negotiated contract based on years of experience & degrees earned
