About the Department
Job Summary
This position requires a leader with a strategic mindset and the ability to identify, develop, and execute strategies and tactics that drive our growth.
Responsibilities
Leads, develops, and manages the integration of all subspecialty service lines as part of the CCHA, in collaboration with other Division of the Biological Sciences, University of Chicago Medicine, and CCHA leaders.
Provides vision and motivation, assisting in the implementation of strategic plans. Provides strategy and assistance around the budgeting for current and future programming, space, infrastructure, and system needs that will help the department more effectively carry out its mission with a focus on continual quality improvement.
Provides effective and thoughtful leadership by building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Develops short- and long-term organizational planning and strategy as a member of the management team.
Strengthens and develops programmatic partnerships that will help current and new programs expand.
Directs special projects and business analyses; including salary benchmarking and a new compensation plan for faculty.
Works with department leadership to strengthen programmatic policies, procedures, and program space.
Facilitates collaborative relationships among sections to ensure effective, quality patient care delivery.
Identifies operational goals and oversees allocation of resources to meet priorities. Ensures compliance of staff with organizational, University and other relevant policies and guidelines.
Advises on all financial activities, including financial analysis and reporting, budgeting, accounting, accounts receivable/payable, and procurement. Oversees facilities management, including renovations, moves, maintenance and ongoing facilities operations. Manages development of all contracts, including those with vendors and other institutions.
Performs other related work as needed.

Education:
Advanced degree with an emphasis in finance, business, health care, or relevant field.
Experience:
Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience within a complex, research, or healthcare environment.
Directly related financial and budget development experience in complex healthcare or matrixed environment.
Experience working in a fiscally responsible, highly regulated business setting that regularly employs benchmarking.
Significant experience within an academic health sciences environment.
