Description
GAC Enterprises, LLC, a well-established construction company, is currently seeking a Bury Crew Laborer to join our team in the Greensboro area. In this role, you will assist with the installation and maintenance of underground fiber optic and other telecommunications lines, ensuring all work is completed on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with safety standards.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, safety-conscious professional with strong communication skills and a proactive mindset. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in delivering high-quality results and thrives in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with trenching and conduit placement: Digging trenches and laying down conduits for cable burial.
- Cable handling and installation: Unpacking, handling, and pulling cables through conduits.
- Equipment operation: Assisting with the operation of small digging equipment like vibratory plows.
- Following safety procedures: Working safely and adhering to company safety protocols.
- Assisting with various tasks: Loading and unloading materials, cleaning the work area, and helping with other tasks as needed.
- Documentation: Keeping track of work activity and documenting any issues or concerns
- Identifying existing utilities: Using equipment to locate underground utilities to avoid damage.
- Coiling and labeling cable ends: Preparing cable ends for splicing by coiling, labeling, and leaving them at designated locations
Requirements
- Physical strength and stamina for manual labor.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of safety procedures and equipment operation.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new tasks.
- Willingness to work during weekends and holidays, and travel as needed.
