About the Role:
The Quality Control Technician plays a critical role in ensuring that all products meet stringent quality standards before reaching customers. This position involves conducting detailed materials testing and visual inspections to identify any defects or inconsistencies. The technician is responsible for calibrating laboratory and testing equipment to maintain accuracy and reliability in all quality assessments. By analyzing chemical tests and other data, the technician helps to implement corrective actions that improve product quality and manufacturing processes. Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in quality control or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in materials testing and quality control within a manufacturing or laboratory environment.
- Familiarity with equipment calibration procedures and laboratory instrumentation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform visual inspections accurately.
- Basic understanding of chemical testing methods and safety protocols.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree or higher in chemistry, materials science, engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience with corrective action processes and quality management systems such as ISO 9001.
- Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis software.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, to support production schedules.
- Previous experience in a regulated industry such as pharmaceuticals, aerospace, or automotive.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and specialized materials testing to verify product specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct thorough visual inspections of products and components to detect defects or deviations.
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory and testing equipment to ensure precise and reliable measurements.
- Document test results accurately and prepare detailed reports for quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with production teams to identify quality issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality control processes.
- Work overtime as needed to meet production deadlines and quality requirements.
