Sr. Product Development Engineer – IPG/Lead
Contract or Contract-to-Hire
Pay: $50-120/hr.
Assignment Details
This is a contract role of at least two months, with potential extension based on business and project needs. Start date is ASAP to allow for project transition. Contract-to-hire opportunity available for the right candidate.
The Sr. Product Development Engineer will design and develop new active implantable products (IPGs or leads) and/or modify existing ones. This role will lead technical execution of development projects within cross-functional teams, with an emphasis on lead development from concept through full production.
Design and implement new products per customer specifications and applicable standards.
Develop product requirements, specifications, and test methods to verify design compliance.
Perform design modeling, tooling and test equipment design, and data analysis to guide decisions.
Manage day-to-day project execution, providing technical direction and problem-solving support.
Lead technical reviews and cross-functional collaboration across Product Development, Quality, Regulatory, and Manufacturing.
Support new production processes and product launches, ensuring adherence to design, safety, and quality standards.
Prepare and maintain project plans, schedules, and documentation.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience).
5–10+ years of product development experience in the medical device industry, ideally with neuro/cardiac leads or active implantable systems.
Proficient in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred); capable of fixture design and assembly manipulation.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of machining and assembly practices (plastics/metals) and familiarity with human anatomy preferred.
Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed.
Prolonged computer work; occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
Use of standard PPE (gown, gloves, ear/eye protection) in applicable environments.
