Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior HRIS Analyst-Payroll is a senior-level position within the HRIS Team responsible for supporting the North American Payroll function. This position partners with HR directors and their customers to analyze work process design and flow, improve processes, and configure Workday; specifically, Payroll functional area, to best support business needs and requirements. The Senior HRIS Analyst builds project plans, ensures adherence to project schedules, maintains a systems orientation and can work effectively with peers and customers to set technology priorities. This position the primary point of contact for all payroll and payroll tax related functions,.  The Senior HRIS Analyst-Payroll also leads HRIS upgrades, patches, testing, and other technical projects as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Serve as subject matter expert for Workday including Core HR, Absence Management, and Payroll.
  • Partners closely with Payroll team to configure and optimize Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence Management Workday modules.
  • Independently manage complex projects and initiatives from scoping to deployment.
  • Lead design and implementation of interfaces from primary HR systems and coordinate all activities, including requirements gathering, data mapping, design specifications, test strategy and scheduling with internal and vendor teams. Interact directly with ADP and other external vendors to ensure integrations are functioning and partner to resolve issues and develop new integrations.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact ensuring data integrity, system security and maintenance, system modifications, report writing, document maintenance, system audits and recommendations for process changes, specifically Infor Workforce Management and Workday Payroll.
  • Analyze, maintain, and troubleshoot tier 2 and 3 issues including working with vendors to resolve system issues. Perform analysis into root cause of problems and resolve as appropriate.
  • Leverage integration tools such as EIB, Solution, and Object Transporter to facilitate data conversion and migration of configuration.
  • Provide advisement to HCMS Analysts and HR Specialists on configuration, design, and project approach.
  • Lead systems updates/upgrades, working with internal teams and vendors to test changes to ensure systems and processes are working as designed.
  • Effectively communicate system and process changes across the organization.
  • Create and conduct training for business super users and on HRIS applications, including features and procedures.
  • Perform audits of data to preserve its integrity and accuracy. Regularly review user procedures/workflow to ensure system features are being fully utilized. Identify features that may improve efficiency.
  • Maintains awareness of current trends in HCMS with a focus on product development, service delivery, support, and applying key technologies. Examines trends in information systems training, materials, and techniques. Participates in user group meetings/conferences.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

Minimum Degree:  Bachelor’s Degree

Course of Study: Business, Computer Science, or other-related field

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a hands-on Workday System Administrator for Payroll Administration responsible for configuration, business process design, Security, and Reporting.
  • Significant experience with HCM and Payroll implementations or optimization engagements from design to deployment for large multi-national organization(s).
  • Career HRIS Professional.
  • Workday Pro Certification(s) in HCM or Payroll modules preferred.
  • Experience with Payroll for Canada preferred.

Physical Requirements

Work is performed in a typical office environment and may require standing, bending, lifting boxes or packages under 10 lbs., and sitting for long periods of time.

Work requires regularly inputting/retrieving words or data into or from an automated/computer system.
