Job Summary
Regulatory professional who possesses extensive technical knowledge regarding rate design theory and practice in AEP's state jurisdictions or external state jurisdiction. Must possess electric utility experience, and detailed knowledge of industry activity and outcomes regarding cost of service and rate design associated with new technologies and recovery strategies, as well as detailed knowledge in the application of theory to perform detailed mathematical analysis and solve problems with very limited guidance from higher level personnel. Developed working knowledge of state or federal regulations and standards, codes, concepts, systems, docket research and business processes relevant to work assignments. The ability to communicate and coordinate work across multiple organizations to address complex problems or perform analysis outside the AEP footprint to accomplish goals established by operating companies and corporate business units for innovative rate solutions for rate cases, recovery clauses, audits, compliance filings, policy matters, and/or other proceedings. Provides high value input for corporate, operating company, and business unit regulatory strategy development and coordination, and support for recommended negotiation strategies. Possesses an extensive knowledge of developments, procedures and current events affecting regulatory activity across numerous jurisdictions, and provides input in the development of strategy regarding cost recovery based on the application of that knowledge. With an extensive level of regulatory knowledge, educates others on interrelationships between cost drivers and revenue.Job Description
