The EMEA Deal Desk team are responsible for partnering with Cloudera Field Sales Organization to support sales opportunities from a structure, commercial, legal, revenue and booking perspective. The Deal Desk Analyst role is a critically important member of the Sales Operations team and will be responsible for supporting the Cloudera Field Sales Organization across all elements throughout an opportunities quote to cash lifecycle (Deal Structure, Quote creation and approval, statement of works (SOWs) , Revenue & legal review and compliance). This is a highly critical role we are looking for a self-starter who can work in a very close knit team within an extremely fast paced and changing environment.

  • The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills as this is an internal-customer facing role
  • Strong understanding of Sales Forecasting models & processes.
  • Creative thinker with ability to challenge existing processes, and propose new business solutions
  • True global mindset, with passion to operate in dynamic, diverse environment
  • Proven ability to handle stakeholder negotiations, in business development context
  • Previous experience of using CRM tools such as Salesforce.com
  • Flexibility to work at End of Quarter
  • Prior experience in Software/Services/Open Source Technologies would be a distinct advantage


As a Deal Desk Analyst, you will:

  • Become trusted business partner for the EMEA Cloudera. Field Sales Organization.
  • Drive early engagement with the Sales Teams to ensure they are informed on optimal deal structures & potential deal challenges during the early stages of deal negotiation.
  • Provide guidance and support around the impact of deal structure on internal teams and policies.
  • Responsible for the detailed analysis to determine accuracy & compliance of all order documentation, highlighting any non-standard language to enable proper internal review
  • Act as a business partner to internal teams to advise on acceptable deal terms to ensure the protection of the long term growth of the company and customer.
  • Drive compliance through interaction with internal stake holders namely revenue, legal and AR teams
  • Management of discount and non-standard deals throughout approval flow.
  • Development and implementation of process improvement initiatives throughout the Cloudera Quote to Order cycle.
  • Act as an approver for Professional Services terms of engagements
  • Ensure Salesforce.com opportunities are structured correctly in line with deal structure of given opportunities

  • Ability to interface effectively and establish quick credibility and confidence with cross-functional groups and Sales Leadership.
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including sales management, external organizations, internal business units and customers.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Power Point
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, of executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Knowledge or experience in software contract review a distinct advantage. (MSA/SOWs)
  • Working understanding of Accounting regulations and experience in understanding non- standard contract language an advantage
  • Basic understanding of Cloudera/Open Source technology and platforms.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce.com CRM Solution preferred.
  • Education Required: Bachelors Degree
  • Experience Required: 3-5 years’ relevant experience.
