Context of the Role

Thunes is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Product Lead to drive our strategy and execution within the rapidly evolving digital asset ecosystem. You will play a pivotal role in defining and delivering innovative product solutions that leverage digital assets to enhance our global cross-border payments platform and unlock new opportunities.

Reporting to: Head of Product Innovation & Transformation

Key Responsibilities:

Digital Asset Strategy & Roadmap

• Define and own Thunes’s digital asset product strategy and roadmap, encompassing opportunities across payments, settlement, treasury, and new product innovation.
• Identify, prioritize, and evaluate potential use cases for digital assets, including stablecoins, CBDCs, and other emerging technologies, within our global network.
• Develop a deep understanding of the regulatory landscape, industry trends, and competitive dynamics within the digital asset space.
• Formulate strategies for integrating digital assets into existing payment flows, exploring new product offerings, and identifying strategic partnerships.
• Lead the exploration and experimentation of new digital asset technologies and protocols, assessing their feasibility, scalability, and potential impact.
• Collaborate with Legal, Risk, and Compliance teams to ensure all digital asset initiatives adhere to regulatory requirements and ethical considerations.

Product Development & Execution

• Translate complex business needs and market opportunities into clear product visions, strategies, and roadmaps for digital asset products.
• Define detailed product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for digital asset integrations and new product development.
• Work closely with engineering, design, and operations teams to execute the product roadmap, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
• Manage the product lifecycle from concept to launch, including iterative development, testing, and ongoing optimization.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including internal teams, external partners, and regulatory bodies. 

Ecosystem Engagement & Innovation

• Act as a subject matter expert on digital assets within Thunes, providing guidance and education to internal teams.
• Monitor and analyze developments in the digital asset ecosystem, including technological advancements, regulatory changes, and market trends.
• Identify and evaluate potential partnerships with digital asset exchanges, custodians, wallet providers, and other relevant players.
• Represent Thunes in industry forums and contribute to shaping the future of digital asset adoption in the payments industry.
• Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation within the product team, encouraging the exploration of new digital asset use cases.

Performance & Risk Management

• Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of digital asset products and initiatives.
• Monitor and analyze product performance, user behavior, and market trends to identify areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement risk management strategies to address the unique challenges associated with digital assets.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and security best practices.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of product management experience, with a significant focus on digital assets, fintech, or related fields.
• Deep understanding of the digital asset ecosystem, including blockchain technology, cryptography, and relevant protocols.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.  
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Finance, Computer Science, Business); Master's degree preferred.
